I created this
blog back in early '09 because I kept reading about how aspiring
authors should have some kind of online identity. Thank Writer's
Digest for being the most persistent voice echoing that advice.
So, with hardly any clue at how to go about it, I created a Blogger
account and started posting my thoughts on writing and books in
general. After a few months, I started to get the idea to focus in a
little more with how I blogged. Nowadays, the blog is dedicated
mostly to dark fiction. I blog about genres besides horror and
fantasy, but those two are where much of the focus lies.
I keep most of the
content on this blog categorized for easier navigation. Here's what
you can expect from each category:
Book
Giveaways: I don't host giveaways too often, but when I do they
can be found here. I will even provide links to other book giveaways
on the blogosphere from time to time.
Book
Vs. Movie: As readers, we'll often argue that the book was better
than the movie. That's not always the case, though. I'll weigh the
pros and cons of both the book and movie and then declare which I
preferred.
Fave
Five Lists: Who doesn't do a top five list at least once a year?
My lists show up much more frequently than that.
Getting
Graphic: Over the last couple of years, I've gotten into reading
graphic novels, thanks mainly to the fact that I have access to them
through my local library. So, I figured I may as well write comic
book reviews too.
Killer
Kitsch: "Kitsch" is a term of used to describe art and
collectibles of an odd or even tacky nature. Once in a while I will
highlight an item I've stumbled across online that strikes me as
especially kitschy.
Meme,
Myself, & I: Memes are all over the place. I don't
participate in them a lot, but when I do I place them here.
On
My Radar: If there is a book, movie, or something else that
catches my eye, but has yet to be released, I'll discuss it here.
Movies, books, TV shows, whatever.
Rabid
Reads: Books reviews. A lot of horror literature, but I read
fantasy, science-fiction, humor, westerns, YA, and even some romance.
Rabid
Rewind: Movie reviews, specifically DVD releases. Sometimes it is
a recent release, sometimes it's a classic, and sometimes a
not-so-classic. Like the book reviews, genres vary.
Wish
List Wednesday: Like any reader, I've got a wish list for
books--and a lengthy list at that. Every Wednesday I highlight one
title I am eager to read. New releases, classics from years gone by,
or hidden gems that have gone unnoticed or under-appreciated.
Writing
Like Crazy: The one spot where I blog about my own fiction. I'll
either discuss the progress of my own writing projects or rant about
the craft and business in general.
